RULES FOR TOP TEACHER

Total purse over $15000

“Dancing a La Carte” awards scholarship dollars to all competitors less than 18 years of age, making the rule for Top Teacher prices slightly different. The following guidelines will be used for the calculation of both Top Teacher and Top School:

-It is not necessary to be on a package to qualify for a Top Teacher Prize.
-We are a Unisex competition – male and female will not be calculated separately.
-NO entries for competitors under 18 years of age are counted towards your entry totals.
-Only Pro-Am entries are counted for your total entries.
-Prizes will be calculated based on the following number of points:

1^st place – 3 pts.             2^nd place – 2 pts.        3^rd place – 1 pt.           Uncontested – 1 pt.

-Based on these minimum entries:

1^st place   $3500 (minimum of 200 entries to qualify)
2^nd place   $2500 (minimum of 200 entries to qualify)
3^rd place    $2000  (minimum of 150 entries to qualify)
4^th place    $1000 (minimum of 100 entries to qualify)
5^th place    $800  (minimum of 50 entries to qualify)
6^th place    $500  (minimum of 50 entries to qualify)

Only 1 prize given for 1st through 6th place.

-All other prizes with a minimum of 50 entries to qualify will be awarded $5 per entry

Top School Prize

-Total monetary prize-money of $3500 as well as a perpetual trophy will be offered. The
same rules apply for calculation as for Top Teacher. The prizes are as follows based on
these minimum entries:

1^st place   $2000 (minimum of 350 entries to qualify)
2^nd place  $1000 (minimum of 300 entries to qualify)
3^rd place   $500  (minimum of 200 entries to qualify)

3^rd place          $50

Dress Code:

There will be no dress code; this will be left up to the teachers. If however, a judge deems the attire inappropriate, it may be taken into account in the marks.
